Issue a card
Partners can enable different card types and forms that suit their business requirements.
The card issuance process has some prerequisites before a card can be issued to a customer:
User profile defined
The user profile has been created. This should apply to both individual and business users. Depending on regional availability, some regions may allow card issuance even for minimum KYC-level users.
User profile active
After the user profile is created, it will undergo a risk evaluation. The user profile must pass this risk check; otherwise, the user will be flagged and deactivated.
User account provisioned
An active account/wallet associated with the user profile must be provisioned. The account will be the placeholder for cards. To it, all the cards will be associated or linked.
Virtual Card
Virtual cards are payment cards similar to physical cards, but in a digital form. They can function like a physical card and are enabled for online and offline payments. For offline and in-store payments, these virtual cards must be tokenized into a digital wallet before they can be used.
A virtual card is issued to a user account in an active state. They don't need to be activated and are ready to be used immediately for payments, provided the user account has a balance.
Physical Card
Physical cards are the physical and tangible form of payment cards. They can be used standalone for online and offline payments, provided that the user account has a balance.
A physical card is issued to a user account in a “pending activation” state. They cannot be used unless the card has completed the activation process. The activation can only commence once the physical card has been delivered to the cardholder. Details about the card will need to be verified by the partner before the physical card can be activated.
Physical cards have two (2) types:
1. Personalised Physical Cards
Personalised physical cards are printed with the cardholder's information embedded in them. This embedding of cardholder details on the cards is called personalisation. Usually, these cards are printed in batches depending on the order arrangements of the partner with MatchMove and the card printer.
Card delivery can be directly from the card printer or picked up by the partner.
2. Non-personalised Physical Cards
Non-personalized physical cards are printed with a card design without personalization or cardholder information embedded in it. This type of card is usually ordered in bulk units. Since no cardholder information is embedded in the card, an identifier is printed instead. This identifier is printed on the back of the card and is called the “CARD KIT NUMBER” or the “ASSOCIATION CODE (assoc_code)”. This identifier will be used to associate a specific card with a user during card issuance.
During card delivery, the partner must determine which specific card has been associated with the user and send the correct one to the user.
