Account types
To begin product configuration, the partner must select one of two account types. This choice determines the available capabilities that can be enabled for the program.
Standard accounts
A normal balance (shared balance) program refers to a product configuration where the balance is only maintained at the master account level. All cards linked to the account will use the available balance at the account level to process card payments.
mJIT™ accounts
The mJIT™ program is a specialized type of product configuration, fit for specific use cases. For mJIT™ programs, there is no balance available at the user account level. At the point of processing payments, the prefund balance available at a program level is pulled in a just-in-time manner to the account and debited again to process the transaction.
Standard account vs mJIT™ account
Wallet Limits | The wallet limits approved for the program restrict this account type. | The wallet limits approved for the program restrict this account type. |
Wallet Balance | The account type holds its value or balance | This account type does not hold its value or balance. Rather, this account is always kept zeroized (set to zero). The partner will need to maintain their own “partner ledger” where they can keep the records of debits and credits against their "customer assigned balance". The mJIT™ account is discussed in detail in this section. |
Wallet Transactions (Closed-Loop) | Since this account holds a balance, transfers between wallets and the program prefund will be available through the API. | Since this account does not hold a balance, transfers between wallets and program prefund are not available through the API. |
Card Transactions (Open-Loop) | On this account type, MatchMove will fully manage the card transaction authorization process. (Optional) But partners can still be involved in the authorization if they decide to implement the Shared Authorization model. | On this account type, the card transaction authorization is to be shared between the partner and MatchMove. (Mandatory) Partners must take part in the authorization process by implementing the Shared Authorization model. |
Record Keeping | The record of credits and debits against the account and balance will be maintained in the MatchMove ledger. This will include transactions made directly on the wallets or made indirectly in conjunction with card transactions. | The records of credits and debits against the partner's assigned balance will only be maintained on the partner's ledger. |
